The principals of Bank Services Company led the market from its inception in the mid-1980s in the development of BOLI-funded benefits. As the original founders of Benmark, they designed BOLI programs that helped the community banker compete for key executives and reward those who contribute most to the bank’s success. They are not only competent but have built enduring relationships with their clients over the years based on their communication skills and proactive response to questions and concerns.


Roger L. Hauge, JD - CEO

Mr. Hauge founded Bank Services Company in 2008 after the sale of Benmark to Renaissance Bank Advisors (RBA). Hauge co-founded Benmark in 1988 and oversaw the development of the company into the nation’s leading provider of compensation programs to financial institutions.  A leading expert on regulatory compliance and on executive compensation and retirement, he has served as consultant to federal and state bank regulators.

As CEO, Mr. Hauge is responsible for the growth and expansion of Bank Services Company and the ongoing enhancement of its consulting and advisory services. Mr. Hauge is an attorney and holds a graduate degree in banking.  His background includes managing a general practice law firm and presidency of Citizens State Bank in St. Louis Park, MN.  During his tenure, Citizens doubled in size.   Prior to co-founding Benmark, he was regional vice president of LARMEL Consulting Group, the predecessor to Benmark.

 

Stephen D. Whipple, JD, CPA - President
Stephen D. Whipple is President of Bank Services Company.  He is a leading expert in the tax planning issues related to the design of benefits and other compensation plans for financial institutions.  Prior to the founding of Bank Services Company, as one of the founders of Benmark, he directed the team of legal, accounting and compliance experts that oversaw the development and maintenance of Benmark’s customized compensations programs.

Mr. Whipple manages the technical aspects of non-qualified plan administration, overseeing the development and delivery of the accounting and tax reporting data for each compensation program.

An attorney and CPA, Mr. Whipple has held senior management positions at major financial services firms.
 

 

Becky B. Keenum - COO
Ms. Keenum was President and COO of Benmark from the company’s inception in 1988 until her retirement in 2007.  She now serves as Chief Operations Officer of Bank Services Company.

In her career with Benmark, she oversaw key company initiatives as Benmark developed from a local/regional provider to the nation’s leading benefits consulting firm to financial institutions.  Among her accomplishments, she developed Benmark’s highly acclaimed administration program, recognized as the gold standard for benefits plan administration for financial institutions.

As COO, Ms. Keenum directs the efforts of Bank Services Company as is extends its administrative services to financial institutions throughout the United States.
